Enzyme immunoassay (EIA), is a biochemical technique used mainly in immunology to detect the presence of an antibody or an antigen in a sample. Diseases and other conditions where such techniques are widely used include Hepatitis C Virus, Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV), Hepatitis B Virus, Human T-cell Lymphotropic, Human Papilloma Virus, Mycobacterium tuberculosis complex and its rifampicin, human CFTR gene, etc. This is boradly classified into:
